Prof. Ezeigbo made the call in a keynote paper she delivered on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the ongoing annual convention/40th anniversary of Association of Nigeria Authors (ANA) holding at the Mamman Vatsa Writers’ Village, Mpape, Abuja.
Ezeigbo paper was entitled “Creativity, Literary Advocacy and Nation Building: The Role of Nigerian Literature”, Adimora-Ezeigbo.
The multiple award winning author said: “The trauma of insecurity in Nigeria today is a subject that should engage our writers. They need to write about it with the aim of exposing those responsible and shaming them, with the hope that they would change their evil ways.
“Whether they are Boko Haram terrorists, Killer herdsmen, kidnappers, bandits, armed robbers, unknown gunmen, rapists, cultists or ritual killer, writers should “bomb” them with words and expose their villainy to the public so that they are brought to book and their evil deeds stopped.

The Writer in Mirror: Conversations with Akachi Adimora-Ezeigbo, edited by Evelyn Urama, is a collection of interviews with Akachi Ezeigbo, by researchers, critics, theorists, and journalists. The four hundred and ninety page-book is organized in six sections and holds forty-two conversations across two decades and eight years (1992 to 2020). Most are already published in local and international academic journals, newspapers and magazines.
