Eugene M. Mauk
January 23, 1926 – February 8, 2015 TULSA — Gene Mauk, long-term Enid educator and administrator, passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, in Tulsa, Okla., at age 89, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Mauk is survived by his wife of 68 years, Coleen, and four children, Sherry Evers, Broken Arrow, Okla., Dan Mauk, Benicia, Calif., Diane Hagood, Auburndale, Fla., and Marcia Whitaker, Tulsa. The Mauks also have 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mr. Mauk is survived by his wife of 68 years, Coleen, and four children, Sherry Evers, Broken Arrow, Okla., Dan Mauk, Benicia, Calif., Diane Hagood, Auburndale, Fla., and Marcia Whitaker, Tulsa. The Mauks also have 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mr. Mauk graduated from Phillips University in 1952 after serving in the Navy during World War II. He taught science at all three Enid junior high schools before moving to Enid High to teach biology. He became assistant principal in 1964, was named Enid High principal in 1967 and remained in that position until 1975. Mauk finished his career as an administrator at OT Autry Vo Tech Center. Homer Eugene “Gene” Mauk
On November 23, 2021, Homer Eugene “Gene” Mauk passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Punxsutawney, PA, a son of John H. and Florence E. (Weaver) Mauk on February 2, 1946.
He grew up on the family farm in Sprankle Mills and graduated with the Class of 1964 from Punxsutawney Area School.
In August 1995, he married Rebecca (Kerr) Coward.
They joined their families and shared twenty-six years of marriage.
Following graduation, he worked at several jobs in the area and then was hired as a roustabout for TWPhillips Gas and Oil Co where he was employed for thirty-three years until his retirement.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, woodworking, camping and anything John Deere.
He was always busy keeping his property looking “just right” and lending a helping hand to others.
He loved to travel and spend time relaxing with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Becky, his daughters Michele White of Azle, Texas and Temple (Scott) Atcheson of Belmont, Ohio, and stepdaughter Megan (Jay) Kommers of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Also surviving are grandchildren; Amber Brady, Zachariah Stiver, Skylar Aspen (Tyler) Ross, Dalton White, Ailsa and Marin Kommers and great granddaughter Rosalie Ross; a sister, Jane (Paul) Depp of Por
